The GSF Grand Banks is an Aker H3.2 semisubmerisble drill rig currently owned by Transocean (though the GSF refers to GlobalSanteFe ). It was built in 1984 by St. John Shipbuilding , Canada. It was originally known as the Bow Drill 3 (1984-1988), which changed to Maersk Vinlander (1988-1998) and Glomar Grand Banks (1998-2004) before its' current moniker. It has particular importance to the Newfoundland offshore industry, where it drills alongside the Henry Goodridge . It had drilled and located oil in the Hebron field in 1998, and more recently in the White Rose field. Currently, it is drilling for Husky on the North Amethyst project [1]

The Scott installation comprises two separate platforms each supported by steel jackets interconnected by two separate bridges. The two platforms are the drilling and process platform DP, and the utilities and quarters platform UQ. The DP platform comprises an eight-leg jacket supporting an integrated deck housing process train, gas treatment, flare boom, drilling facilities and derrick. The UQ platform comprises a four-leg jacket supporting an integrated deck housing utilities, living quarters, lifeboats, helideck, power generation and exhaust structure.

The Piper Bravo is a North Sea oil production platform originally operated by Occidental Petroleum (Caledonia) Ltd . It was built to replace the Piper Alpha platform, which was destroyed by a fire and subsequent series of explosions in 1988. It is located approximately 120 metres from the wreck buoy marking the remains of its precursor (at 58°27′35″N 0°15′04″E ). The field is now owned by Talisman Energy and has recently undergone an upgrade to accept gas from the Tweedsmuir North & South discoveries 52 km to the south.

The Noble Piet van Ede (IMO: 8752805, Port of Registry: Monrovia, Liberia) is a three-legged cantilever jack-up drilling unit of 55 meters long and 62 meters wide, rated for water depths up to 64 meters with a maximum drilling depth of 7,620 meter. The vessel is constructed to survive wave heights of 23 meters and wind speeds of 42 m/s. The rig was built in 1982 at CNIM, La Seine sur Mer, France and is operated by Noble Drilling Services. via
