Mt. Hutt gets considerably more snow than Coronet Peak (94-inch season average) or the Remarkables (134 inches) and probably similar snow to that which falls at Cardrona or in Treble Cone’s Saddle Basin.  The Canterbury areas have a reputation for a deeper snowpack and a longer spring season than the Southern Lakes areas. The Water Corporation says the rain is unlikely to have a significant impact on the state's dams. The corporation's Phil Kneebone says dam levels remain around 23 per cent. "The catchments are still bone dry and the only water that will actually find it's way into the dams will be that which falls straight out of the sky onto them," he said.

"Over vast areas of the oceans the only rainfall data available are those made by using conventional rain collectors placed on islands," said Prospero, professor of marine and atmospheric chemistry at the UM Rosenstiel School. "However, rainfall on the island is not necessarily representative of that which falls in the surrounding ocean. Our paper shows that properly placed rain collectors on Bermuda do yield rainfall rates that agree with those determined through the 7 Be measurements."   Scientists find new way to estimate global rainfall and track ocean pollution

All that which falls within the purview of the five senses is known as the empirical. As these senses -- of smell, taste, sight, touch and hearing -- are the preceptors of pleasure and pain, it goes without saying that advancements in empirical science have been resulting in ever-increasing means to heighten both pleasure, as well as pain. If we devote just a few moments to look at our own such sensations from a third party point of view, we would conclude that these sensations are in fact being referred to own ego, the sense of "i" ness. If this were not so, then the same objects would have produced the same sensation in everybody and in equal degree. Thus, the ego is the traceable birthplace of all desires and also reason for the relentless but futile struggle to satisfy them. The question is: who in reality is struggling in such a futile manner? If this is my body and this is my mind, then who is the real I? The wise call it Atman. It is always the ...

"My opinion is, that it will be necessary to leave a large part, if not the whole, of the troops now on the left of the Tagus in the Alentejo, at least till our works shall be in some greater degree of forwardness; and the measures I should wish you to pursue are generally to confine the enemy's operations as much as you can, taking advantage for that purpose of the course of the different rivers which fall into the Tagus. The first of these is that which falls into the Tagus at Benavente ; the second that which falls into the Tagus at Camora Correa; the third that which falls into the Tagus above Aldea Galega ; then the line from Moita to Palmela; and lastly, that from Almada to Traffaria." But while a tree doesn’t fall to crush a flower, it also doesn’t fall because its a tree! Things other than trees fall, even though it seems pretty clear that a tree is always concomitant with “that which falls”. Just Thomism
